A client opened a new office in Elmbridge Court on the outskirts of Gloucester.
There was good CCTV coverage for the outside area but offices had no CCTV unless installed by themselves. Our client wanted 4 CCTV ..
The remit was straight forward: 4 CCTV cameras to cover the windows from inside the office with one of the cameras focused on the front door to monitor who comes in and who goes out.
A false ceiling with easily removable tiles allowed us to run LSOH CAT 6 cable from each camera location back to the cupboard where the CCTV's recorder was to be located.
The ceiling tiles were very flimsy and couldn't accommodate the screws to hold the camera in place. Each time we put a screw through the tile and into the camera, the screw became loose and wouldn't hold the camera securely enough so we had to place a 10" by 10" piece of wood on the underside of the tiles and secured the cameras to the tile with the help of the wood.
Once the security CCTV cameras were mounted, we had to angle the cameras to cover the areas that needed covering.
With all cameras in place, we renamed the cameras on the NVR, gave the NVR a static IP address and then configured the router to allow port forwarding to the NVR which in turn, allowed us to configure mobile devices to view the cameras remotely.
