This project was a multi-facited installation as it included HikVision CCTV cameras, Ajax Wireless Intruder alarm system, WiFi network and an entry system for front and rear doors. We also planned the cabling for the entire building to ensure everything came together and worked seamlessly.
Multiple offices with each office needing the ability to provide entry through the main door for visitors to their office.
Each office needed it's own network via the 1Gb leased line via data points and secured WiFi.
We had a cabling company run the cables but we terminated all the cables, created all the networks and installed and configured all the equipment.
The project was for a building in the center of Cheltenham which was beig gutted and refitted in preparation for it to be turned into rented office space. The owners of the office were going to occupy one of the offices so everything needed tobe linked back to that office from where they could administer the WiFI, CCTV, Door entry system and so on.
DOOR ENTRY SYSTEM
The Cheltenham Offices had a front entrance and a rear entrance. There is parking at the front and back and so staff needed to enter whichever door was nearest their parking.
Therefore, we had to install 2 entry systems: one at each entry door. The door was controlled by a strike lock and a two module, HikVision, door entry system which comprised of a camera module and a multi-function digital module that acted as a call button module, a digital keypad and a card / fob reader.
Each Office had a single entry monitor but one business took three of the office and so we had to link two of the monitors to one of the others so that they all rang at the same time from the same call button.
The Image above shows the various screens of the door entry module
Each office was fitted with a door entry monitor which linked to the door entry system so when a visitor tapped the screen for their office, it rang through to the monitor in that office and the person at the office could see and talk to the visitor. If they wanted to provide access, they could tap the monitor screen and the strike lock at the entry door would be released and the visitor could push the door open. The system even audibly tells the visitor that "the door is open".
When we knew the business names of the companies moving into the offices, we programmed those names into the module and they then appeared on the digital interface. The interface is large enough to show roughly 10 businesses before there is a need to scroll through the names but 2000 contacts can be stored on the system for very large office spaces.
A visitor taps the name of the business they are visiting whereas we gave every tenant and staff member their own fob which they can tap against the reader to open the door.
If they forgot their fob or lost it, they can gain entry by tapping in the passcode allocated to them.
The programming pushed the codes and the fob data to each door so staff can use either door with the same code or same fob and they can get access to the building.
